這一面石頭，是用手捏出來的。它是同一塊東西，而它一開始不存在。
現場已經做好了，峽谷還沒有
我們接手的時候，隔間和拱門都立好了，天花封好了，空調也裝好了。還沒有的，是一座峽谷。牆和天花要長成同一塊，而且要長進這個已經做好的現場。刻得出來，也架得起來，難的在那之前。
給您一張圖，您做得出這個嗎
這是自由曲面，也就是不照任何公式走的曲面。沒有一張圖裝得下它。畫成平面圖，起伏全部不見。畫成立面圖，只剩一條輪廓。圖畫不出來，就沒有人做得出來，現場只能停在那裡。
照著現場，一個點一個點捏
所以我們到現場，照著現場，一個點一個點用手把它捏出來。怎麼捏的，這裡先不展開。
形狀定了，燈光、維修孔、空調出風口也跟著全部重畫。設計不是畫開心的，能用，才算數。
切開，再拼回同一塊
一整片運不進來，所以先在模型上切開。每一件都套進 85 × 175 公分的框裡，照尺寸切出材料，再一刀一刀刻出來。運到現場，拼回同一塊，看不出是拼的。
影片裡的白色形體不是示意圖，是當初捏出來的那個檔案本人。全部 148 平方米，光是其中一面牆，就切成 13 件。

When we arrived, the partitions and arches were built, the ceiling was closed and the air conditioning installed. What did not exist yet was a canyon: wall and ceiling grown into one piece, and grown into a site that was already finished. A free-form surface fits in no drawing. Flatten it into a plan and the relief disappears; flatten it into an elevation and only an outline remains. So we went to the site and shaped it by hand, point by point, against the site itself. How, we keep to ourselves. Too large to bring in whole, it was cut apart in the model, carved piece by piece, and joined again on site without showing where. 148 square metres in all; one wall alone is 13 pieces.
